- Groups can be established with editing privileges
- Wikis allow the site stucture to evolve
Disadvantages
- Anyone can edit so this may be too open for some applications
- ideas presented may not be completely accurate or valuable
- requires Internet connectivity to collaborate
- flexibility of a wiki's structure can lead to disorganized information
- wikis do not necessarily prevent hackers
